Terms of service
The agreement between you and Meetle. By creating an account you accept these terms, so please read them — particularly the sections on safety and on meeting people in person.
Who may use Meetle
You must be at least 18 years old to use Meetle. There are no exceptions, and this applies to every part of the app.
You must be legally allowed to use a service like this where you live, and you must not have been removed from Meetle before.
You may hold one account. Accounts are personal to you — do not share, sell, or transfer yours.
What Meetle is
Meetle helps adults find each other for real-world activities — sports, food, travel, hobbies, and casual meetups — and, if you choose to switch it on, for dating.
Meetle is an intermediary. We provide the platform; we do not organise, supervise, attend, or vouch for any meetup, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with another member.
Verification, and what the badge actually means
We want to be plain about this, because it affects how much you should trust a stranger.
A "verified" badge on Meetle today means the account was created through a verified Google sign-in. It does not mean we have checked anyone's government ID, and it does not mean we have confirmed anyone is who they claim to be.
A "video verified" badge means the member has completed a video call of at least 30 seconds with another member. It tells you a real person appeared on camera. It tells you nothing about their identity, intentions, or history.
Treat every member as a stranger, because they are. Follow the safety guidance below regardless of any badge.
Meeting people in person — read this
Meeting strangers carries real risk, and no verification system removes it. You alone decide whether to meet someone, and you do so at your own risk.
- Meet in a public place, in daylight where you can, and stay in public.
- Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to be back. Meetle's "share outing" feature is there for exactly this.
- Set up your trusted contacts and learn where the SOS button is before you need it.
- Arrange your own transport, and keep control of it.
- Do not send money to anyone you have met here, however convincing the reason. This is the most common way people are defrauded on apps like this.
- Leave the moment you feel uncomfortable. You never owe anyone an explanation.
Meetle's safety features — SOS, share outing, trusted contacts, reporting, and blocking — are aids, not guarantees. SOS sends a message you confirm from your own phone; it does not contact emergency services for you. In an emergency, call 112.
Dating mode
Dating mode is off by default. You may turn it on in Settings, and turn it off whenever you like. While it is on, the activity side of Meetle is hidden and you see a dating feed, matches, and dating chats instead.
Everything in these terms applies in dating mode, and the following applies additionally:
- Dating mode is for adults aged 18 and over seeking consensual, personal connections.
- Sexually explicit photos, videos, or messages are not permitted anywhere on Meetle, including in dating chats and view-once media.
- Meetle is not an escort, sex work, or commercial companionship service, and using it to advertise or arrange paid sexual services is prohibited and will result in permanent removal.
- Sending intimate imagery of another person without their consent is prohibited, is a serious crime in India, and will be reported to the authorities.
- Consent is required for everything, online and in person, and can be withdrawn at any moment.
Turning dating mode off hides you from the dating feed. It does not delete your dating profile, matches, or messages — delete your account if you want that data gone.
How you must behave
Our community guidelines form part of these terms, and set out in full what is and is not allowed. In summary, you must not:
- Misrepresent who you are, including your age, or impersonate anyone else.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, or discriminate against anyone.
- Post sexually explicit content, content involving minors, graphic violence, or hate speech.
- Solicit money, run scams, promote businesses, or spam other members.
- Arrange or promote anything illegal.
- Share another person's private information, or screenshot and republish conversations.
- Interfere with the app's security, scrape it, or automate access to it.
You are responsible for everything you post and send.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, text, and other content you post. You give us a limited licence to host, store, and display it so that the app can work — for example showing your profile photo to a member you have matched with.
The memories feed requires the agreement of everyone who was on the plan before a photo is published, and any of them, or you, can take it down again at any time.
We may remove content that breaks these terms or the guidelines, and we may preserve content that is the subject of a report or a legal request even after you delete it.
Reporting, moderation, and enforcement
You can report a member or a conversation from anywhere that person appears, within two taps, and you can block anyone at any time.
We review reports and may warn a member, restrict their account, remove content, or remove them permanently. Repeated reports against an account may restrict it automatically while we look into it.
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days. Reports of non-consensual intimate imagery are treated as the highest priority and we aim to remove such content within 2 hours of a valid report.
If we remove your account you may appeal to grievance@meetle.app.
Subscriptions and payment
Meetle is currently free, and every safety feature — reporting, blocking, SOS, trusted contacts, and share outing — is free permanently and will never sit behind a paywall.
If we introduce paid tiers, we will tell you the price and what it includes before you are charged, and any purchase will run through Google Play's billing and be subject to Google's refund rules.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, then "Privacy and data". Deletion is permanent.
We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if keeping it would put other members at risk.
Our liability
Meetle is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or error-free.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, online or in person, and we do not screen members' criminal or background history. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what happens at a meetup, for anything another member does, or for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
